Coordinate the development process with local, state, and federal partners
Plan the overall physical development and growth of Macon-Bibb County by updating periodically the General Development Plan and by preparing functional master plans
Update and administer the zoning code of Macon-Bibb County to support adequate residential and commercial development and to preserve rural land, historic structures and open spaces
Enforce the zoning code of Macon-Bibb County
Administer all aspects of the Comprehensive Land Development Code and Comprehensive Plan with efficiency, fairness, and consistency
Protect and enhance quality of life for all citizens of Macon-Bibb County through friendly, fair, and consistent enforcement of the Comprehensive Land Development Code.
Advance the field of Planning & Zoning to be recognized as a regional and national leader in all facets of planning
