Road Closure/Detour | Bridges Being Replaced
We are pleased to announce that preliminary construction work on SR 247/Pio Nono Avenue over Norfolk Southern Railroad has begun.
The Georgia Department of Transportation is replacing the College Street bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad and partially replacing the Pio Nono Ave [at Roff Ave] bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad.
[The Project] proposes to increase the vertical clearance of the bridge by increasing the height of the existing piers and replacing the superstructure on SR 247/Pio Nono Ave over Norfolk Southern Railroad. Project length is 600 feet along Pio Nono and approximately 350 feet of Roff Avenue will be reconstructed. One 30-day closure of Pio Nono will be required. Roff Avenue will be closed on both sides of Pio Nono for no more than 2 months.
