Cybersecurity Awareness

You got “Phooled” by the MBPZ IT Director!

Don’t be embarrassed sometimes it’s hard to see the difference between these types of attacks. The main thing is to learn from your mistakes. Ask questions, never feel rushed to response to an email. If something is important enough to be rushed, then its important enough for a phone call.

  1. Phishing is an email sent by someone outside of @mbpz.org that is asking you to provide information about yourself or our organization. They will trick you into clicking links, opening attachments, and even asking you to call them.
  2. Malware is a snippet of coding or software designed with the intent to harm, exploit, and compromise applications (Clariti), networks (WiFi), and devices (Computers).
  3. Ransomware is a type of malware that has the ability to hold an organization data hostage until a demand is made.
  4. Spyware is another type of malware that is designed to run hidden in background processes and record keystrokes, browser history, and even has the ability to turn your camera on.
